Pencil sketch of a Rogue Techno-Shaman.When the practioners of The Arts (occult,magic,alchemy)and the Scientific Community of the world banded together to create technology,energy sources,and weapons in a last ditch effort to defend mankind against the onslaught of marauding,relentless invaders,from dimensions bordering Earth and also those from afar,they had no idea they would with their inventions end up swaying the course of the near millenia long war in their favour..eventually ending the war and seeing them recognised as saviours.

As civilisations rebuilt and grew once more the scientists and the practioners of The Arts continued their partnership and helped speed up the rebuilding of society through the invention of new technology,research and systems,designed not only to create new resources and machines and equipment,but also to restore the enviroment and advance medical applications and research.They also continued to advance and provide the Military with weapons and equipment for "defensive purposes".

They ended up becoming invaluable,with involvement in all area's of technological,scientific,medical,enviromental research and advancement,and of course Military applications.The championed and achieved a new space program,seeing many planets established with new colonies,and vessels and ships made and designed to make travel faster and safer.Dimensional travel and exploration was also explored and achieved.They were regarded as miracle workers and heroes by all.That is until politics saw a powerful religious group gain influence.

Not trusting anyone who used arcane arts to achieve their goals,and those that believed science to be the true path to mankinds advancement and future lifestyle and existence,they began to investigate the so-called new "Saviours" of mankind.The Church planted spies in their facilities,organised random raids and inspections,spoke out publically against them warning people against putting their faith in the hands of the faithless Scientists and the users of the Devil's power.They rallied against them publically,the investigated them both legally and illegaly,casting doubt and suspicion,calling for them to prove their innocence of any immoral and illegal practices and research.

Sick of neverending harrassment,slander and victimisation,the members of The Arts communities and Scientific Communities around the world set to work on a project that would see them free of The Church,and the Politicians and Military leaders that they had managed to sway to their cause.Once completed,secretly and swiftly,all the members of the Scientific and Arts communities left the Earth and relocated to a uninhabited world found whilst exploring a neighbouring pocket dimension.A world they claimed as their own.They had secretly developed and terraformed this world over the years whilst enduring the increasing Church witch hunt,and when their cities built by drones and other automated creations were ready,they evacuated their "society" as they now saw themselves and declared their independance from Earth.Collectively calling themselves Techno-Shamans,and naming their planet rather uninspiringly Homeworld,they demanded they be recognised as a new world under their own rule and devices.They were still Human yes,but no longer felt they could live and create on Earth,under the current "ruling"Government.They would continue to do research and design and produce technology,medicines,etc..for the furtherment and benefit of mankind,but they will do it without the interference of politicians and bigotted religious zealots.Further advancements,inventions,technology and systems,across all areas of their previous endeavours on Earth will now however be provided only upon payment.Due to their independant state they would need to trade just like all the other worlds.They would become as a private company and trade their products to support their own existence,thanks to the ignorance of others the goodwill and doing it to build a better world for our children on Earth, is a thing of the past.Nothing is free,and they will trade with other worlds.Due to their dependance on their igenuity and products and research the leaders of Earth realised they could only agree to their demands,they had let them become too invaluable in their day to day existence,to lose them would be catastrophic.So they granted their wishes and abided by their rules.

As time passed eventually tensions eased,The Church lost it's power and favour in the world governments,and relationships between the people of Earth and Homeworld improved.Both expanded the presence throughout the dimensional worlds,both alone and jointly,and once again good will and the exchanging of aid ,information,and research became the norm.Joint projects were common ,trade was more reasonably priced at "mates rates",and the people of Earth once more benefitted greatly and looked upon the Techno-Shamans as godsends. A notion not far removed from how the leaders and successful middle to upper echelon members of the Techno-Shaman viewed themselves.

As their society and world had grew and expanded,though they viewed themselves still Human,they truly became a race of their own.Their world indeed was built and supported on trade and ran like a corporate empire.Though nobody went without,everyone had a job or a purpose and were happy,it was by no means an equal society.It was in fact a version of a Caste System,and money was the only way up.Education is a prime requisite and self improvement essential.By self improvement they meant genetic or cybernetic manipulation and enhancement...not the personal and recreational,or the cosmetic and sports versions that were sold to their Earth cousins either.These were far more advanced and jacked the recipients strength,resilience,and reflexes,but also enhanced learning and problem solving skills as well as senses and their very gene pool.Meaning the artificial and genetic manipulation performed now would be encoded in their natural make up and ninety percent of the time their new abilities will be passed on naturally to their offspring.

Three avenues that led to the possibility of rising through the Caste's to success and a extremely comfortable life were to become a practioner of The Arts,enter into Science and Research fields,or Technological Research and Development.Those who were not intelligent enough or medically impaired or born to very low level Caste parents and thus financially impaired,and thus did not qualify for the three avenues were forced to undergo enhancements and either work for the System,as Security or Service Caste,or joined the Labour Caste the lowest of the low never destined to live long or be treated better than a stray dog.They were expendable.There were illegal opportunities of course but the risks were great and the Security Caste were brutal.After that there was only one option ..sell yourself to a Rogue Techno-Shaman to be a guinea pig for their research.

Those who did succeed were extremely powerful and rich,and augmented and enhanced far beyond their poor Earth cousins dreams.They did this not only to continue to improve their standing and power,and not only to keep it,but after all the years of hearing how advanced they were,how brilliant they were,how superior they were to normal Humans,they believed it.Believed to a point that not only did they truly believe they were better than their Earth relatives,they wanted to be better than all others.They wanted to reach the next evolutionary stage and beyond.Some wanted this truly because they wanted to be the best they could be and then use that to help others reach the same.Others for personal gain and power.Others..because they believed compared to others they were not just superior..they were gods,and they wanted to in reality be as close to that belief as possible.Though most fell into the first two categories,their were always a few that believed and pursued the final category,the never ending pursuit of Godhood and they would stop at nothing to achieve it.These were the ones known as Rogues.

Illegal experimentation and augmentation,kidnapping,murder,blackmarket body part harvesting,slavery and prostitution,anything was acceptable if it meant funding their personal dream or making a breakthrough in research that once tested and proven on others would be applied to them bringing them again one step closer to their goals.They are a minority,they do not represent all Techno-Shamans,and if caught by outsiders and exposed are branded criminally insane,shunned and executed by their own.If caught by their own kind they are fined,forced to share their research,and allowed to continue their research on other worlds as long as they pass on their findings for the benefit of all and the realisation that if they were caught by outsiders they'd be branded Rogue,all knowledge of them denied,disgraced and executed.Problem with this,their society being the way it was,their guards could be bought and they escaped to further their dream autonomously..free from all influence and authority.Many were never caught or found again.It soon became rare that a Rogue ever becomes discovered at all.They have become a legend,a myth,and in years to come only a very few Techno-Shaman leaders know they ever existed,and of the probability they still do.

On Earth,there are a few world leaders and high ranking Military that know of the Rogues,records of their existence in the past marked for their eyes only.Any new evidence of a Rogue classified and reported to them immediately.Part of a secret agreement made between them and Homeworld,a joint venture to keep their existence secret,so the Techno-Shamans can keep and profit from their once again spotless and revered public persona,and their Earth cousins could benefit from the best technology and research years before any other world..making the second most advanced race in the Allied Multiverse..that they know of.

As far as anyone else knows,including the majority of Earth's population,the Techno-Shamans are the benevolent race trying to make the Multiverse a better and safer place to live.To most Techno-Shamans this is true as well,even though they believe they are superior to others and secretly pursue the goal of achieving high evolution through their knowledge of technology and the Arts,they believe their kind do it for altruistic reasons,to reach perfection so they can then help others do the same.Only a few know the real truth,of what the Techno-Shamans are truly capable of,of the existence of the Rogues...and they aren't talking.
